Oligodendroglioma

Fluorescence in situ hybridization using 1p36 and 19q13 LSI FISH probes are used to detect oligodendroglial phenotype.

Allelic loss of 1p is a powerful predictor of chemotherapeutic response.

Combined 1p36-19q13 deletions are highly associated with classic low-grade oligodendroglioma histology and a longer survival rate.
